Cobra Mission (1986)

Group of Vietnam vets get together and decide to return to Vietnam to save couple of POWs. Of course this is hush-hush operation and they have to work under the USA government’s  radar also.

First 30 minutes or so are pretty slow when the vets get their shit together and plan the rescue mission. Once they enter the war zone things really pick up and rest of the movie is a good jungle action mayhem. One of the stand out scenes is the one where the vets ambush Vietcongs on the river.

Donald Pleasence makes a quick appearance as the priest who supplies them the weapons for the mission. Christopher Connelly is the team’s leader and he delivers the goods once again. He was great in Mattei's classic Strike Commando and i think he was even better in this one.

Directed by Fabrizio De Angelis (Thunder trilogy), credited once again as Larry Ludman.
